We were lacking in blond females to play the part of Carter. Ian + wig had to suffice.

That would make a nice wallpaper if you have multiple monitors.

Yeah, that's six frames stitched together.
Times like that, it's very nice to have a SLR, so you can be sure the camera won't mess with the exposure on you.

Our camera actually has a panorama setting where you can line them up side by side as you're taking them.

Some compact cameras (eg Canon PowerShot series) offer SLR-level features (ability to lock all settings off manually if required, shooting in RAW, exposure/focus bracketing etc) - of course, you're missing the ability to swap lenses but the software makes the most of the hardware!

Very nicely done, Tari, that's a sweet stitch.

What software was used for the stitch? Photoshop? Photoshop Elements? Something else? I have seen open source stitchers I think but I could not get them to work for me. benryves: do you know if there is a way to shoot raw with the PowerShot A720IS, I have it but did not see a way to get raw, is it just some of them with that feature? I will also say that benryves is right on the manual settings which I have used occasionally though it might be easier to use a different mode that does not make everything manual, only the part or two you need. There are several such modes on my camera. I also agree that that is a great shot, I have done some big ones in Photoshop as well though I usually mess up the height I hold the camera pointing at giving me a reduced panorama height, How bit was the PSD if you did this in Photoshop, some of mine have been over 1GB if memory serves.

I used Photoshoop, but Microsoft has a free one somewhere, and it works quite well. I don't remember what it was called, unfortunately.

Wow, Tari. You actually upload full resolution photos?! Also, there's a small hiccup in the photo around the bottom of the tree line reflection around the middle far-right, I'd have LR clone that out.

I do, sometimes. The linked larger one isn't full-size, though, it's around half-size. Actual full size on that one is a 14521x2266, 140 MB png. Smile

Assuming we're looking at the same place, that's actually a buoy.

Scary face there, comicIDIOT. O_o @Tari: Vertical line about 8-10 px high around the middle of the image? Looks like a buoy to me if you say it's a buoy.
