Welcome to the forum thread for IDEs!

So, to get the thread started: What IDEs would you recommend for programming C for the calculator?

Here are the ones I have looked at so far:

Source Coder 3 (made specifically to use the C libraries, but I am a little concerned about the posts about its unexpectedly deleting programs. However, I think that if I back everything up frequently I could use it.)

Visual Studio (I use this for practicing C for the computer, but I don't know if it will accept the C header files. It would be ideal if it could.)

Do you have any suggestions?
The most full "IDE" is TI-Planet's Project Builder. Otherwise, I think people generally just use their favorite editor (maybe Visual Studio Code as a suggestion), build from the command line, and run in CEmu.
Thanks!

So, does that mean that you can program calculator C in other IDEs besides TI-Planet and SC3?

Yes, any editor will work, you just have to be sure to build it using the toolchain rather than for the computer (which I think would be the default for many editors).
I know Visual Studio Code has telemetry. If you must use it then consider turning it off. https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/getstarted/telemetry

There are lots of good free/open source IDEs for doing C/C++ development including but not limited to Code::blocks, Eclipse, and Netbeans. Try doing an online search for open source IDEs. Also maybe you might like either Vim or Emacs?
