There's probably some good connections that can come between this community (Cemetech), and the Future of Coding:

https://futureofcoding.org

It's a blog and podcast by Steve Krouse, but there's also a Slack community where people and organize share their thoughts and projects related to improving coding, or the processes around it, or making coding more accessible to non-programmers.
There's some really good stuff going on there -- go check it out!
Thanks for sharing, shkaboinka! These look quite relevant to our interests indeed; I should ask one of my friends that listens to a lot of podcasts to be a guinea pig, since I so infrequently have time to listen to podcasts. Sad Has this community affected your own programming language development at all?
Kerm: The great thing about FoC is that it's a place where hobbyists, research students, and "the big guys" in the industry, all have a common platform to exchange conversation and ideas. If there's any shot of bringing about the "computer revolution [that] hasn't happened yet" (as Alan Key puts it), it's going to come from collaborating to increase the chance that somebody(ies) out of the many will be able to stand on the shoulders of those before them, and piece together something amazing.

Kay himself seems to have seen some merit in it too, as he did a person 5-hour interview with Steve Krouse, giving him tons of guidance and advice as to what's got to be done to really bring about the future.

... Not that that stops people from being really set on their own ideas regardless (->guilty!<-). You especially see that among people making visual programming languages. Lots of box and wires type stuff, most of it not learning from what actually works and not doing anything that's actually new. BUT there ::are:: some very amazing exceptions, and it's an environment like that where such things can come to light.

Overall, it's been great to interact with like-minded people, get advice from those who have (or have almost) made it big, and see what everyone is doing or already has tried, and what does or doesn't work, and why.
