imagine being able to "feel" a wall directly in front of you in a video
game OR getting tactile feedback like a tap from your finger hitting
the keyboard.

i have an idea and would like to work with cemtech to develop
them.

every other electronics project developer wants 10-15k thousand
dollars to develop my idea.

I would be willing to front the necessary startup expenditures
and discuss terms. but making this technology free to the public
like your CLOVE 2 would not be out of the realm of possibility.

I really really think that my idea and your CLOVE idea could be integrated and allow for a much wider application range. Not only keyboard but gaming feedback OR operating system feedback.

o.O that was Kerm alone that did the CLOVE, just FYI

This does sound interesting, but where will you get money for supplies? It would be really cool, but there are labs and companies with huge amounts of funding working on materials that can change from an electrical charge etc...
sorry i was posting it to CEMETECH, did not realize there were divisions among the community.

these mega companies will take this and basically it will become a
novelty item that the end user will invest 500 dollars on and place it on a shelf.

I want people to be able to build themselves within reason.

The basic component run about

20-30 for the device
50-100 for the controller(aurdino or PIC ?)
20 misc parts.

And I would invest in the above myself and have them
shipped to where.

i just don't know enough about electronics to integrate into a controller. after that building a software interface should
be easy to fairly easy.

I just dont know where to start in creating a feasible working
prototype.

Also, the one thing that caught my eye was the approach.
This device(CLOVE 2) can be readily made and that how I
envision this device.
There are very few people here who know each other in real life =)

Post your idea on how you will implement it though, something like this will probably be very complicated >.>
As far as cheap and feasible haptic feedback goes, the only thing I can think of is microactuators. I know that some of the big companies are coming up with haptic LCDs that provide force-feedback to touching the screen, but I'm not exactly how that works. Did you have any particular technologies in mind?

Yeah, it was I alone that made Clove 2; the people here tend to each work on their own hardware and software projects and publish them on the forum, but if there's a project in the Projects section, it's one of my personal projects. I'm a student at the moment, so I don't have time for a commercial endeavor of any sort, but I'd be happy to contribute any knowledge and brainstorming that you need.
