I've been working on a port of the mobile game "2Car" with a freind. The goal of the game is to control two cars so that they only circles and don't hit squares. What makes this game difficult is that you have to control two things at once (it reminds me of when people try to pat their head and rub their belly at the same time if that makes sense... Smile ). I think it will be written entirely in TI-BASIC unless one of us learns Hybrid-BASIC really soon. If anyone thinks there should be some really cool feature in it or something, write it below.
Sounds cool! Can you please post a link to a picture of the game on mobile? A google search couldn't turn anything up.
Sorry it took me forever to respond. Sad

I hope I did that image right Smile[/img]

put the [/img] tag right after the URL Razz

It looks like a fun game, but I really doubt that you'll be able to get a decently fast version working in pure TI-BASIC... the language just isn't fast enough for that. You'll have to learn hybrid BASIC; if you download the DCSE SDK, the included PDF has a ton of documentation for both CSE hybrid libs, but you could get your start from this page, probably.

Still, if you can prove me wrong, feel free to! Good luck with this regardless of what you choose; it'll be a fun game to see on the calcs.
I'd like to upload what it currently looks like, but how would I record the screen? I thought I could just use ti connect but i guess that's just screenshots.
Jstified! Load a CSE rom image and then upload your game and run the game from the homescreen. Make sure you press the animated gif button under the screenshot tab and away you go! If I find a tutorial I'll link to it here.

You will then want to upload to an image hosting service like this
Well, I kind of messed it up so bad I don't know how to fix it, and I'll be starting over Sad . Anyways I had been using the graph screen and it looked ok, but it was running sort of slow. I would either have it set so the incoming circles and squares (O's and X's) would either move insanely slow or they only moved like 8 times before they reached the bottom making it incredibly choppy and not very much fun. How would I input Hybid-BASIC to make it run faster? I'm a complete newbie to it, and whatever tutorials I look at make little to no sense. Also would you recommend I use the graphscreen or homescreen? Thanks!
Depends, If you are looking for very customized color. Use the Celtic DispColor command. In general, I like the home screen better because it alway looks neater.

Also while you are there, check out the rest of the Hybrid libraries and commands listed [url=http://dcs.cemetech.net/index.php/Third-Party_BASIC_Libraries_(Color)]here.[/url]

Using Hybrid-BASIC, you would be using neither graph on home screens, you would have to put it into half-res, and work from the "screen" that that gives you. but doing so, you would be able to obtain alot more speed, get rid of that pesky bar on top, and overall make it a nicer game, i definitely recommend reading the DCSE_SDK. http://www.cemetech.net/archives/text/calcinfo/
you can download it from here Smile hope this helps
I feel like it'll take me quite a while to learn hybrid basic, so this thread will probably be inactive a while. Smile
