To avoid these "incidents" where a member joins Cemetech, takes other members' jokes too seriously, and then gets offended, why doesn't Cemetech have something in the "Registration Agreement Terms" or rules that states that either:

A: You must not be "harsh" and tell cruel jokes to fellow members.

or

B: People at Cemetech may sometimes be would could be considered harsh, and may have jokes not meant to be really mean, but that may offend you. If you are willing to join a forum where this type of humor is displayed, then click "I Agree" (or whatever...).

These possibilities could definitely be written better....

This might help to prevent situations like what happenned with Netham45. Just a suggestion. What do you all think?

Exactly; if they don't read it, that's their fault. The button at the bottom indicates binding legal agreement to the terms above, and they bind whether you actually went through the trouble of reading them or not. I shall summarily edit the TOS.

As this forum promote free speech it should be stated that some post may contain content that may offend some ppl, we want to warn you in advance. Theres a radio station where there was a power metal program where it kept saying that before it started

Er, I briefly went over it . But, like I said before, if the user complains about people "flaming" them or something like that, then it can be pointed out that clearly in the Registration Terms and Agreements, it said that what the user considered "flaming" was allowed and tolerated here, and if the user clicked "I Agree", then he/she agreed to tolerate it too.

Also, isn't there some way to make it noticable? Can't you make it in a larger font or something? Or maybe make a javascript alert box pop up or something stating this to make it more noticable?

(you should have went on MaxCoderz forums when drubu.com collapsed (internal disputes between staff) that was prbly 100x worse than the BPC/netham incident here, only missing thing was death threats, but it's probably because the admins edited those. But it doesnt matter anymore because their forums got hacked 6 months later and they moved to a new forum. That was back in spring 2004 actually)

xlibman and others, the disclaimer has already been added, and I obviously went with choice B, for as xlibman said, I promote free speech (about legal and proprietous topics) as much as possible. I tend to look over TOS's as much as possible when I'm registering...

yeah unfortunately lot of ppl wont check them. What i love about phpbb is that they show up immediately when clicking register. On IPB 1.3 they show up in a lil scrolling text box below the form. However its always good to put emphasis to some points. The porn thing was a joke btw <.<
