WASHINGTON, D.C. - Here are the Top 5 Things You Need to Know for Monday, March 16, 2009:

#5: Changes are coming to the iPod Shuffle. Apple's third generation iPod Shuffle no longer includes the familiar control pad. In its place is a three-button remote controller on the headphone cable. That means the shuffle will only be compatible with Apple headphones. Third-party vendors will have to add a special authenticity chip to the remote.

#4: Trent Reznor, the founder of the rock band Nine Inch Nails, admitted on a blog that he often scalps tickets to his own performances—all to take the resellers out of the mix. Reznor says venues, promoters and ticket agencies often feed tickets directly to scalpers, so why not him?

#3: Now you can dress risk-free from retailer JoS. A. Bank. Just buy a $199 suit from now through April 9, and if you lose your job, they'll give you a refund—and let you keep the suit! JoS. A. Bank has several stores around the D.C. area.

#2: Get ready for veggie Viagra. German researchers are testing an all-natural impotency treatment that includes an herb, a vegetable root, and grape juice extract. Early results show it can work better than Viagra. The treatment dubbed 'Plantagrar' is due to be launched next year.

#1: Human tests are also underway fro Peramivir. Researchers say the drug may be able to help fight the everyday flu, and it may be a weapon against a possible flu pandemic. A Maine-based company is currently recruiting adults experiencing symptoms such as aches, fatigue, fever, runny nose, and congestion.

Huh, interesting cross-section of news there. Will you be updating us on the five things that we need to know daily? Smile
No, I just thought #4 was particularly hilarious. Mainly because of this: http://forum.nin.com/bb/read.php?9,548515
Thanks for the interesting news. And I'm kind of not surprised about the iPod Shuffle.

Very Happy I average about 5 a day.
Lol, that is one of my local news stations, and man are they a joke. Everything they say is made to sound like some sort of massive conspiracy. Stuff like "the hidden dangers of fax machines: could they be invading your home?"
The best ones are when they cover malfunctioning elmo toys. Recently they had one where there must have been something pushed up against the speaker causing the sound to be garbled. It was supposed to be saying "four five six," but it really sounded a lot like "who wants sex?" after listening to it a few times. Of course, they made it sound like it was the end of the world, but everyone else just thought it was hilarious.

True story, I also have frequently noticed his links to be of interest. He says he bookmarks them mainly for himself, but I find them very informative as well. Smile

I remember when my Fox News (Detroit) was talking about how this one "talking baby" toy seemed to be saying "Islam is the light"...

lulz everywhere, until you realized people were actually taking it seriously.
That just makes it funnier Very Happy
