How about making a visual-basic-like editor that creates programs for the ti?

I would if I had time and knew how...
Only about 12,000 people have thought of that idea before you, the problem is that those with the know how tend to not care about TI-BASIC in the first place.

If you want to attempt it, go for it. Use something like PLY with Python and you can have a decent lexer pretty quickly.

on or off calc? for me, on-calc would be feasible, but frankly a waste of time =/ to create complex GUI would require code slightly above someone who would need a pretty program to write it. Without coming up with your own, brand-new script, such a project would be kinda pointless
