This is a program I've been working on simply called "TFE" since all names I make are unoriginal. It is a program that allows you to edit Ti-83/84 files, although only programs are supported at the moment. The programs support simple block highlighting. A few of the BBxx tokens (all the special chars) are missing and still need to be added. And a misc feature I added in is that you can actually use vars 1-20 on most things, for example [M] is completely legal. There's more probably, but I don't know what else to mention. That's great to hear, MRide! Have you seen Merth's project, "Tokens"? It is another TI-BASIC IDE; it seems like these are popular things to make at the moment. What features will it provide that set it apart from, for example, SourceCoder?
You mean CoolioJazz? Razz Yes I have, actually, that was one thing that helped me motivate to finish simple highlighting, since thats a feature thats been mulling around for about a month (This whole project is about half a year old, with lots of no work time on it) At the moment, there's not really much to make it better that say sourcecoder, but remember, this will not just be a basic ide, it will also support other random file types once i finish that part, which I think I just about have.

Awesome! You mean like lists, matrices, strings, pics, stuff like that? Yeah, I dunno why I typed MRide instead of CoolioJazz. Sad Glad to hear you've found motivation to complete an older project though, that's always something good to have. The syntax highlighting is actually something that I found programmatically more challenging than I expected, which is why SourceCoder 2.5's syntax highlighting is halfhearted at best. Congrats; where are you going to take this next?
Well, right now, I want some feedback on the highlighting, anything I should try to add etc. then once I feel thats done, I'll quickly add support for appvars, which will be handled the same way as programs, then I will move on to adding pic editing.

Sounds good; I'll have to give it a try tomorrow while I wait for Doors cS 7.0 RC 2 feedback. AppVar editing support will be very interesting; may I suggest that you allow hex editing of AppVars if people want to change the binary values in said AppVars?
Yeah, thats something I was considering doing doing, allowing editing the hex (of both vars and progs, since like I said, they will both be handled the same way) like a "Switch between views" kinda thing. I'm just unsure of the interface I would do for that...

I'm sure we'll be happy to help you brainstorm here. Smile By the way, I changed your initial screenies to urls to help those less resolution-fortunate among us; hope you don't mind.
*bump* I've moved this thread to the Your Projects section.
