Speaking of crappy BASIC programs, I made a parody of all those BASIC shells a few years back on a friend's calculator while he was asleep during math class. It was called WANG OS, and it was full of ascii pictures, some animated.
I did the same thing back in the day, but look! A novel way to use the built-in LCM( and GCD( commands!

Wow... Did he really just do that?

That's probably about as FAIL as it gets. However, I'd like to nominate http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/421/42150.html. Last I checked, pretty much every test has questions with different point values (1-2 point fill-in-blank, 10 point essay, 1 point multiple choice/matching, etc). Furthermore, in my experience, the test will have its point total on it and the teacher will write either your total score on the front or sub-scores on each page. Not that hard to add and divide.

Eh, maybe that's not really "snoty" material, but it certainly is useless three-quarters the time.

Well, to be fair, you can't use those built-in commands on more than two numbers unless you do something like lcm(2,lcm(3,5

I guess, it's not as bad as it could be. Still, it seems a bit simplistic to me.
I've written some damned crap myself... I'm ashamed of most of the older programs on my author page. Sad

We all have those programs.

Oh, me too, but I comfort myself in the knowledge that I had to start somewhere and build up to being a little more knowledgeable. Smile

How about this gem? http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/259/25917.html
And as I mentioned (and am ashamed to say) http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/280/28059.html
And finally, one of my earliest programs (although less pathetic than those other two) http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/225/22560.html
Kerm was a newb once? :O
Say it's not so! D:

I've made a ton of silly little programs in my BASIC days. Sadly, I never uploaded anything to ticalc.org so I've nothing to show Razz
I write completely in BASIC, and look what I've done (click the "TICalc.org User" bar in my signature. If it doesn't take you to my author profile, click "view Author Profile")

Actually the first person's program mentioned has great use. In BASIC programing this can allow for better saving of data. Example: In my first BASIC blackjack program I had a save feature. To do that though I need to either keep the save lists in ram or force the user to put them on the calculator when he puts the program on so I can archive and unarchive because if you try to unarchive a list at the beginning of a program and it doesn't exist you will get a problem. I thought it was very usefull. Anyone with me?

You'd just use the command "SetUpEditor Llistname)" If (listname) doesn't exist, it creates it. If it does, but it's in acrchive, it unarchives it. All without changing the list!

No offense intended, but did you make sure you got permission from Fred Sparks before making Metroid Pure: Corruptions? Authors often get a little unhappy if you release a modification of one of their games or programs without asking first. Smile

Yes I did. and its Corrupted, not Corruptions Very Happy

Edit: I didn't get permission berfore making it, but I did get permission before posting it.

Edit #4: Just for future referance, almost any BASIC program I get, I edit on my calc (but I only rerelease with author's permission and if I think others would like my edits.) For example, the Palm program you made, Kerm, is now error-proof (when choosing your place to edit, it used to be able to go off screen, but now it can't), holds 10 to-dos instead of 8, and stores to pic 255, not pic 8 (a program called ZPICMAN). That was a big example of its kind; usually I just give them DCS icons and the like.
Ah, awesome. I'd be happy to have you re-release Palm if you didn't already. )

Would you prefer as an update or as a seperate file?

Edit: Haha - this is my 42nd post!

The ticalc.org archivers are not very severe, apparently....

Remember when TICalc used to host bomb-making programs, explicit games, etc., then went down for ~6 months or so to sort out all of the "inappropriate" content?
