i have read multiple tutorials and i want to learn advancedbasic. i read kerms tutorial and loved it except for the fact it was not finished and i have read alot of other ones but i was wondering where in the world can i find a tutorial that is easy to understand but thoroughlyy explains stuff. sicode says one can be found on a site but i can not find the sight and i have tried for a while would someone mind trying to find it to. because if i learn advanced basic i want to try to join basic elite or something. The link is here: http://sicode.ticalc.org Just click on advanced basic and there will be a little paragraph and then a link. Rolling Eyes
Yeah, they're kinda old and defunct. They did some cool stuff back in the day though. My tutorial's actually fairly complete ( http://www.cemetech.net/projects/btutor ), and you should also check out the BASIC Elite's tutorials: http://www.cemetech.net/projects/basicelite
i have read btutor i read it last night and it was good i just need some more tutorials. the only bad thing about yours was it was devoid of matrices and stuff. oh and could you please look in to that advanced basic manual on the link that i posted i could not find it for nothing.
Ah yes, I left out more advanced stuff like that. Well, here's matrices:

Matrices are essentially 2-dimensional lists. You can have any dimensions from {1,1} up to {99,99} provided you have enough memory. Store the dimension:
{height,width}-->dim([A]

Store a number:
Value-->[A](Y,X

Recall:
[A](Y,X
thanks for that.
Does that help you at all?

There is quite the collection at my site for the 83+ line. Wink

The TI-Freakware series is more oriented for gaming, where Kerm's is just a general tutorial that covers most of the commands and functions.
thanks i will try the site. and yes the matrix did help. but can someone PLEASE go to http://sicode.ticalc.org oh i tried the site and a couple of the tutorials were down it said something about being under construction.
I can get to everyone on my site... Confused
must just be my computer than and did anyone search for the guide i couldnt find.
I have been unable to locate it...
okay thanx at least i was not the only one.
I believe I may have found the tutorial which you are referring to.
Nice job something, that one looks interesting.
It's one of the better tutorials. What I really like was the section on trigonometry in programming.
However lafferjm, you have to realize that not everything can be posted in a tutorial. It's also good to experiment with different things and see if you can figure what's happening by yourself.
Aye, that's how I learned Smile
TIFreak - want to post up that tut on your site?

That's how I am learning too. For example, I learned loops a long time ago. I learned statistical sprites not too long ago. What do I do? I make graphical menus combining loops and statistical sprites. This isn't covered in any tutorial I've read so far. A particularly good example is BZC. It is a fairly new language, and is still being developped. It already had plenty of useful functions built in, and supported functions added in. So I applied some of the stuff I learned from OOP like passing parameters, returning a value, etc. to make functions that met my needs. The only parts explained in the BZC tutorial were how to make functions and how to insert Asm code. The program may not work correctly, but the point is that tutorials won't tell you anything. Experiencing things for your own self and discovering what works and what doesn't work for you is the absolute best way to learn anything.
