Makes it so DCS doesn't post the file on the desktop...
Yup, it hides it from DCS.
There are so many aspects of TI-BASIC that are hard to explain in words, so many of the tutorials out there do not have "everything." You can mostly only learn basic (haha, pun... Laughing ) stuff from tutorials and to be able to really understand some of the more advanced stuff you would need to experiment.
agreed, I can tell you how to do one thing, but if you try and do something similar from scratch, you may not be so good at it.
That's why it's so hard to create a single "definitive" tutorial: you can never cover everything, and it's better to draw knowledge from several different sources anyway.
i searched for tutorials on basic and they all told me stuff i knew. does anyone know where i can find a tutorial on advanced aspects of ti-83 basic.
Well, I am rewriting mine, to include some advanced stuff... What is it you are needing to know?
Have you checked this out yet?

nothing in particular just some advance stuff. ive read over it before but i will take another look.
Well, give http://z4.invisionfree.com/TIFreakware/index.php?showforum=60 a shot, see if you learn anything from there... Wink
Take a look at my post.

Superb. By the way Dan, did you notice our posttimes? Very Happy
well i figured out a topic i need some help with. text sprites.
Alrighty. What exactly do you mean by text sprites, something like this?

Code:
 ##
#  #
#  #
 ##
?
http://tifreakware.calcgames.org/tutorials/83p/b/misc/2dsprite.htm

http://tifreakware.calcgames.org/tutorials/83p/b/elfprince/l1.htm

Check them out, those are about different forms of text sprites.
Kerm text sprites are when you overlap text characters to create a picture.
Then you want the second link, look a lil over half way down the tutorial.
Also, since you have an 83 not plus, you can't do the Text(-1,Y,X,string) trick.
i have a question about the getkey.

how exactly do i do that stuff where you have that

x-(k=24)+(k=26)

and all that. it confuses me a little.
