Hello,
Can you use the usb/msd 8x programs in other programs? For example, can you use the mouse and keyboard in the Doors CS 7.1 desktop or BASIC editor? How about the standard BASIC editor built in TI OS 2.55MP?

There is a newer build of USBTOOLS
here which allows keyboard integration, though MathPrint has to be turned off you can use it in the programming editor, but only for typing letters, and is not horribly stable. There is a USB8X BASIC API which is described at
here on wikiti.
There's a program that makes it possible to use a mouse in DCS GUIs:
