"right click" -> "send file to vti" to send programs to it.

You can type by clicking on the buttons or just typing with your keyboard.

What kind of system do you have?

Which is best to use?
VTI or the emulator from TI?

I found the Ti emulator to be easier than vti?

Where do you get the TI emulator?

Also, I had problems with VTI and my TI-83+ rom until I downloaded VTI 3.0. Could that be your problem?

when i send a file to it it just shows an error msg. I tried every option in the right click menu, so that's not it...

i have SDK... i just don't know how it works Neutral'... i'll just read the readme file (that's what it's for!)

I clicked on the buttons and bashed on the keyboard, but the simulated LCD screen stays blank.

After turning it on, right?

Which version do you use? Because if you've got version 3.0 (prerelease), you can only send applications and not programs and stfu...
If you've got version 2.xx, then the problem would probably that you've got a ROM-version that's too high for the emulator. I think it can handle until version 1.13 (so 1.14, 1.15 and 1.16 won't work!) The solution is getting a lower version.

Ouch, that's a little harsh.

i have an old version, but i'm not going to send a prehistoric OS to my calc (don't even know how, all the people with calcs i know have at least 1.15. I have 1.16 myself)

Stfu too JP, and i did turn it on arcane.

I'll just curse VTI for eternity, delete it, and never think of it again.
Or just look for a newer version.. Razz

Can't you just download a newer version of vti instead of replacing your calc's os?

No, not really. The latest VTI, besides the 3.0 version for the 83 family, is VTI 2.5 Beta 5 (to the best of my knowledge). The highest ROM for the 83 Plus that will for sure work on 2.5 is 1.12. (It's the version I use...)

Everything else, I guess. I haven't tried it yet, so I can't tell you for sure.

Then couldn't he use that version?

For version 3.0, he should be able to use it with any ROM version. 2.5 Beta 5 seems limited to 1.12 and lower.

So why say he can't just download the latest version?
