That's a good question. I know here, a lot of people call them Coke machines. Even if you're talking about some other soda. On out-of-state trips this caused a lot of confusion.

Speaking of regions, Dr Pepper is extremely popular here, but when our school went to Florida, I couldn't find a drop of the stuff. What's up with that? Neutral

There's a vending machine over here in Holland now that sells sex-toys, like vibrators. It apparently was the first in the world... I'm not surprised.

Pop, soda, soda pop.... It just matters where you live. For some strange reason "soda or pop" provokes frequent discussions and even arguements. At summer camp there was a large one, so someone went to the only British guy there and asked him which was correct.
He said "fizzy drinks" Razz

I like 'fizzy drinks' better than Soda and/or Pop. As a word, that is.

Haha. Now I've heard the rest of it.

What about that change from Mr. Pibb to Pibb Xtra?

1) I refuse to call it by the new name.
2) They offer the most ludicrous pitch in selling it.
3) It's probably the result of some lame lawsuit with Dr. Pepper.
4) Their fansite has been shut down.
5) It crushed Brian Clevinger's heart. 1 2
6) And now I'm going to help bring it back.

Both in North Carolina and in Virginia they are called soda machines. I've talked to people from many different states, and I've never heard 'pop machines'. Coke machines sounds familiar though...

We call it soda here in florida, i have a friend from illinois that calls it pop, so i guess its partly the central us, and digitan, coke is the popular drink here in florida, but i see dr pepper in the store (and curse it) evey day, so i guess you were in northern florida (did i ever tell you how weird northern floridians are?) because here in fort lauderdale we have it Smile

by the way im typing this at 1 am so if its a sloppy post you know why

You have said that something go horribly wrong with a vending machine order. So, you mean vending machine also encountered a mistakes? And you have also said that the recent account was only one chapter in a long, sad history of soda machine torture. I just can't find a history about soda vending machine to get an idea about it.

You joined to post that in a 4 year old topic? If you haven't been ripped off by a vending machine you probably haven't ever used one.
