Just for anyone wondering that has actually stuck through with this project, I have finally found some time to really start pulling it together....

First things first:
DragonFire Programming has moved to http://dragonfire.unitedti.org as I am still working on getting the domain back up (dragon-fire.org). You will find the DragonOS forum inside the project forum.

Secondly, the writing of rom calls will be opened to the community. The concept is quite simple, submit a rom call, get your name in the credits.
There will also be a section in the credit for those that optimise a rom call but don't fully author one.
However it is not quote ready, need to add a lot of rom calls. When it is ready I will post a link and link it to the main boards at my site
Contact me via email darth_android@unitedti.org on optimizations / adding / authoring a rom call after I post a link to the rom call page.

Can't wait for the link, so I can get started trying to code some of those calls... Hope I'm up to it. Wink

*waits for more routines to come up of intermediate difficulty so that he can actually code some of them*

Sprites... *shudders* why don't you just ask Sigma if you can use his? They're terrific, I'm sure he'd let you Smile

Hopefully if I or someone can get the source ported (shouldn't be much, maybe a few missing headers) then it will compile on any *nix box

I thought the author already made a Linux/Unix version, but it was only available if you purchased the program...

Maybe I was mistaken...

I think you're trying to get Tilem working? Didn't work for me either.

BUT

wine vti.exe

works for me, vti 2.5alpha I believe.

How exactly do you go about writing an OS? This is for 83+ right? Too bad I don't have one.

I wouldn't say that fourteen hours constitutes a dead topic.

Here are a few tutorials that give a rough understanding of OS development, some of which should also apply to calculators. Note that it takes a massive understanding of the internal workings of computers and software to even know where to begin.

No, I just wasn't here when Darth Android revived it. Of course, it's his project, and he's allowed to...

EDIT: Okay, I deleted it.

Questions:
is dragon os still going to be backwards compatable with old programs, functions, and apps if it is ever made?

is it still being made?

what does it do?

If my say means anything, I'd say "Screw TI, their formats and especially their TI-BASIC." But that's just me. Re-implementing the(a) TI-BASIC parser is a HUGE undertaking. And for what? So that we can keep using all those quadratic equation solvers in the ticalc archives? I think not. Save the space for something worth a grain of salt.

haven't seen you here for a while...personally I dont care if Basic is reimplemented or not, but if it is, then do a better job then TI did.

Well for those hanging, you might want to stop for now. Many things have taken over my life, and if anything, DragonOS is on hold. I've still got my ideas and stuff, but other projects are using up my time. I'm hoping to get back into the asm scene after I finish my z80 compiler. Sorry guys.

No prob, it sounds like this and Nimbus have basically died out. Better for DCS imho, although I would love to make a DragonOS version of DCS. Smile
