Hey JBirk or other admins, you might know how I was banned the other day accidently when someone near me spammed the forum. I just want to warn you that some people are making fun of this board and other stuff, they might try to spam it again. I suggest you ban all 24.59.142.xxx addresses, or mabey all 24.59.xxx.xxx except for me if that is possible. My IP Address is: 24.59.142.58 - email iceman2oo0 if you need them. Just a few thoughts, sorry to bring about some bad news, Ill try to deal with them

Imp

The most unfortunate part is that the forum does not support banning all of a range but one ip.

Thus, if I ban either of what you posted, you will be banned.

Although I am not sure, I could try to create a .htaccess file.

Something like

<directory>
order allow,deny
allow from all

deny from 24.59.
allow from 24.59.142.58
</directory>

Well, I tried a .htaccess file, but all it did was create an Interna Server Error, so I deleted it; a.

The .htaccess would be the best option to do something like that, of course I see no reason to ban ips unless there is action that requires it.

Just my 2 cents.

And, with the new forum, we really have no need to use that because the ban features have improved.

For instance, it even has html color coding, wich is like quote only colored.

[html]<html>
<head>
<title>testing</html>
</head>
<body bgcolor="#000000">
<p>I am just having <font color="#f80000">fun!</font></p>
</body>
</html>[/html]

Now, I know it won't parse the html, but it color codes it! Isn't that cool.

Wow! Does it color code other languages as well?

Code:
-------------------------------------------------

#include <iostream.h>
int main() {
 cout<<"Umm...  Will it color code?...";
 return 0;
 }

-------------------------------------------------

#!/usr/local/bin/perl
use CGI;
$query = new CGI;
print $query->header;
print "<html><head></head><body bgcolor='red'>Will it color code?</body></html>";

-------------------------------------------------

DISP "WILL IT WORK?"

-------------------------------------------------

If it doesn't color code any of those, it should.
