I think this calc will never released. You cant sell this calc to somebody because calcs are for education and not for playing like this thing.

Is that the reason it's forbidden? Never knew that.. What about an 83+ with a ti keyboard? Razz[post="74020"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]

From what I understand, yes. On more advanced tests, I have been told that anything with a QWERTY keyboard is forbidden. I guess they don't know the typing speed calculator nerds have on their graphing calculators... Laughing

I guess im one of those nerds, i type with one hand on the calculator and dont even have to look at it. I have most of the common programming functions memorized, so i dont even have to think when doing stuff. But typing is still confusing, but if someone memorized teh alpha keys well, they could easly type the questions into a blank program one handed and not even have to look at teh key board, To me that would be just as easy as typing on a computer keyboard.

edit: Or just type them in on an computer program and transfer them to the calculator.

the interesting thing about those standerdized tests it that although qwerty isn't allowed devora (horribbley misspelled) and other layouts are.... shows how smart those who design the tests are...

Didn't want to make a new topic when I could bump this one instead, and when it is very important and relevant to the topic's subject. Apparently, it IS going to be released (at least in Germany) under the name of TI-nspire CAS+. Also, it is by far the ugliest calculator I've ever seen.

Contrary to what ticalc.org says, it only has one USB port, not two.

I kinda doubt that TI would design two new touch-screen calcs at once. Also...

There's a bit of a resemblence... Well, maybe not, but I still find that unlikely

My goodness, it looks like they're copying Mathematica's interface.

Gottvonallem, you'd be suprised to find that many people do buy calcs for gaming. I bought my 89Ti for programming and gaming, and took the math tools as a bonus. It's just a lot more portable than a laptop, the games are free, and PDAs are cool yet expensive, in my opinion. By the way, the 89Ti is forbidden on the No Child Left Behind tests, because of its CAS. What they don't realize is that it is just as easy to program basic algebraic functions on an 83.

It should probably be the other way around. Math tools and games as a bonus.

Should be. But I already had an 84+Se. Not to try and justify it, but I prefer programming on my Ti rather than a computer.

VB, but I can take my prgms with me with the calc, and that really helps for long trips. I don't have the money for a laptop, or else I would.
