Super Speler has been a dedicated learner of TI-Basic, an avid programmer, and a more-than-capable helper in this forum and others, so we'll grant him a welcoming reception as he takes his post as the TI-Basic forum's new moderator. We're glad to have his support!

Congratulations - we always appreciate the help around here in TI-BAYSIK!

Now, did they tell you about the part that in order to stay a moderator of TI-BASIC, you have to provide a 10,000 byte long über-optimized BASIC program every week?

That would 2.7, but you get the idea... pretty soon all calculators will belong to me! MWAHAHAHA!!!

Ehem... yeah. Thanks for the opportunity to help out a here, I hope to prove you made the right decision picking me. I have read every single post since I joined (remember when I was away over the summer? That was one long day of reading...) and hope to be doing this for many years into the future.

Mmm, spam. You guys are getting hit even harder than my site was a month ago... I suggest countermeasures. I non-standardized my registration page and enabled email confirmation, which seems to have reduced the bots to one every couple of weeks.

I too had to enable email confirmation on my board, I was getting hit by one a day, since I enabled it, I have not had any more bots... (only has been a few days though... Razz )

We can handle them. When I get a reported post message, 90% of the time the post and spambot are already gone. (thanks to mods like Super Speler as well as the staff)

We have some (clever?) counter measures in place, in addition to user email registration required to post. There is also a captcha that has to be filled in to register an account. Yet we are still getting hit with bots.

Thanks to the great work of our mods we are able to keep up with those scumbags.
