We here at United-TI have deployed the new server today, which was purchased a couple of months ago. The new server takes advantage of 64-bit processing, and a few other key features.

Are those key features available to us, users, or only for admins/site-devs?

@HarrierFalcon: The download system is still the same.

Mm. This would explain the downtime a little while ago.

I'm intrigued. What are these key features?

Darth Android* is helping me work on that. Considering we did a migration from one cpu architecture to another on a different OS version, for over 60 virtual servers, then having only one thing not working right away isn't bad at all.
IRC services are up and running again, thank you Darth Android*!

The downtime was neccesary to ensure nothing was lost in the migration from one machine to another, files or posts. They key features are all hardware options specifically selected at the time the server was ordered. Yes this server has more ram then the last one, it also has a dual core processor, among other things. It is a smaller yet more powerful machine.

The best part, of course, is the Lights Out management, which none of us will ever see.

I must say, though, that it looks a lot cooler and better than the original server, which I met in person tonight. Boy, is that thing a little beast. :P

But this new server should be much more reliable and stable. In the long haul, you'll want to praise AlienCC's name. Wink (What's a little down-time here and there, afterall? Razz)

Is it working for people in Firefox? For me, it says "You have Entered a invalid Site or the selected site is unavailable at this time" when I try to go to the site, and only works with IE.

This is a caching problem with your browser, nothing a control + F5 can't fix.

Next Line of business is to fix the download thing so we don't bug Darkerline everytime we need an update to our file (points to self).

(Points to himself too) I think Darkerline has enough to worry about....

I don't really mind, and if people have to go through me to update, it prevents someone malicious from updating a program with something content-wise inappropriate (for example). But it really should be more automated.
