File Name :: xPegz

Description ::
xPegz is my next-gen hybrid basic clone of Pegs. Based on a much faster engine, xPegz runs faster than Pegz but only a tad slower than the its original counterpart.
However, it makes up for this with a powerful level editor, which allows you to make external level packs to give to friends. It also compensates with 8 built-in levels (4 by me, 4 by nitacku, which I may note are extremely challenging) along with virtually infinite levels.
Other powerful Asm utilities have been utilized, mainly CELTIC2, LIST, and VARTEST, so as to eliminate errors that would be impossible to prevent in Pure Basic.
Requires xLIB .601b or higher.

Naw, ONBLOCK stores its hook in a place that xLIB uses.
I should note, quitting with [ON] is obviously the fastest way, but it also leaves your progress in RAM and if you lose the AppVar your progress will be reset and it will have to reinstall (not archiving Pics, but recreate the appvar).
My only complaint is that it seems to prevent me from sending other stuff to my calc when I have it on mine.... |

[post="102068"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post] Meaning xLIB overwrites ONBLOCK's hook rendering it useless. |

They have been included the app.
You can't store an app in an app. |

CELTIC2 allows me to store to custom lists (i.e. saving levels) and save progress in an Appvar. VARTEST allows me to check the status of levels if the player were to load, save, or pack them. LIST...makes converting a list to a string wayyyy easier.
xLIB can't do any of those. |

It looks great! How were you able to use some of the levels from Puzzle Pack though? |

Thanks! But what do you mean, use their levels? I had to manually port them with the level editor... |

What I meant was how were you able to use the layout of the level? Like the exact replica of the app PuzzlePack :confused:

Oh...I'm still not sure exactly what you mean, but xLIB supports mainly sprites that are multiples of 8, so I used 8*8 sprites, the same size as in PuzzPack. Hence, both have the exact same graphics--8*8 sprites in an 8*12 tilemap. |

@frenchcalc1:
He started the App, and copied the level to the calculator, which was running the level editor.
I think someone before humorously asked if Harrierfalcon had linked xPegz to the App. Personally, I think this (BASIC version) is better. |

Thanks! Just make sure you have the most recent version from here, because there were a few subtly nagging bugs I fixed.
How hard did you guys think Level 4 of the built-in was?
Anyone figure out how to hack the levels? |

You have fixed how many bugs since this was first released? j/k
I think I was testing, or trying to test, but there were so many files...
Woohoo! Now it's an app.
WTF? Was the bunch of random pictures shown at the beginning while installing intentional?
And while the next level is loading, and you play around with the arrow keys, then the most recent arrow key press will actually be executed.
EDIT2:
Whoops. I accidentally left my edit without updating it, and you posted.

Yeah, I didn't think people would want that many subroutines...and, it stores progress in an Appvar, true to it being an App!
EDIT:The pics being shown are the pics being recalled and archived from BasicBuilder. The response to a early keypress is my neglection to put a [font="courier new;font-size:9pt;line-height:100%;color:darkblue"]getKey right before the game loop.

I was using the App (because i don't want to deal with 40 files) and it was pretty cool.. the loading threw me off at first..
beat level one of Built-In then when it was loading level two it gave me "Err: Memory"
everything on my calc is archived, and with all the stuff installed/w.e i have approx. 21-22k free RAM.. so there should have been no problem there ..
(~600k free in archives, i have too many games )
any ideas?

I got that error too. I know for sure there is no memory leaks...anyone else?
The program itself is ~14K, without the 10*14 matrices (there's 2 of those).

I used PTI, but it was running a regular 83+ with nothing on it.
Oh yeah. The most important thing:
No errors. |
