I believe he was referring to those who were anticipating being able to use Basic+ to write ASM games w/o actually learning ASM.

He wasn't telling you to start again, rather those who were going to be dependent on you.

I knew he wasn't talking to me, but I actually didn't realize that people were depending on the project.

In which case, yes, continue your projects. Neutral People were doing math before calculators, and people were writing music before notation software, likewise with ASM programs before Basic+!
