File Name :: IndestructoTank
Author :: bananaman
Category :: Ti-83plus Asm Games
Screenshot ::
Description ::
IndestructoTank is based on a flash game by the same name from ArmorGames. You are an indestructible tank that needs to blow up the enemy planes, helicopters, and miners. The only catch is that you don't have any weapons. You have to blast yourself off the enemy fire and into the enemies to kill them. The more enemies you kill before hitting the ground, the greater the experience. This simple concept will keep you trying especially on the insane difficulty.

The game is composed of various stages. During the stage you have a limited amount of fuel to reach a set exp level. Your fuel gauge is on the right side of the screen. Don't let it hit the bottom or you will lose. Your exp is on the left of the screen. Try to fill up your exp bar before the fuel reaches empty. Different difficulty levels give you varying starting exp and fuel.

Update: IndestructoTank is now Ion compatible.

Wow well I must say congratulations merely the fact you coded it in less than 2 weeks not only that but the fact that it's really good too.

I believe that would be in a weeks time, but hey, what's the difference between 1 week and 2 weeks. (Well approximately 604000 seconds)

wow...I was just reading up in the read about this becoming a game, so I thought I would check it out. I must say your version looks faithful, I can't wait to try it. Quick progress by the way.

EDIT: ok first off let me say this is great...really faithful to the original. I did find a bug, once you max out the frequency of a specific enemy type you cant purchase anymore but it still detracts from your xp. Other than that I didn't find any other bugs.

Yeah, that is an issue. I will be sure to change it. It shouldn't take long.

I will wait about another week before another release since there may be a few more bugs lurking around.

Looks awesome Smile.

But if I may make a small suggestion, perhaps you could add the height under the little arrow when the tank goes offscreen?

That came up once this week. Basically your arrow shrinks the higher you go.

Well, remember, the limit for the tank is 30 pixels above the visible screen, plus, adding extra sprites would be superfluous. But, if you did want something, I would suggest making the arrow go down the farther you go up. No new sprites and drop 1 pixel per 4-5 that the tank is up would be easy to add in.

Ahh...now that I actually got that high, I see. Apologies.

May I suggest one other thing? Perhaps you could make it take longer to fill up your experience bar, it seems rather easy atm...

How far have you gotten? It's a cinch the first few levels but after that it gets a whole lot harder (unless you have a 30-40 combo going in which case it only takes a few hits to level up).

And if you ever lose that combo, you may just be out of luck.

I tried to make the difficulties pretty far spaced apart. I gave the game to my 10 year old sister and she almost beat wimp. I gave the game to my mom and she made it pretty far in beginner, I gave the game to my brother and he beat normal, and I tried the game myself and I lost on the third wave of insane.

Could you post/upload the source somewhere? I'd like to learn from it...

Since I may still be making minor updates to the game in the next few weeks, I would prefer not to release the source until it is basically finalized. If you can wait a little bit I can give you a copy.
