(Firstly, I'm using OS 10.4 on a macbook)

Okay, so a piece of my speaker jack broke off and is stuck in the input. It's only the tip that broke off, so I can't really get in at it (and don't want to till I know more). Looking inside it is slightly off center, and in deep. Can this do any lasting damage, or should I just go in there with a pin or something and pull it out.

Also, I can't seem to find a way to make it switch to the built in speakers (I've been searching preferences and googling for answers). Anyone know how to do this?

This should probably be in the computer tech support forum Razz but besides that, you're gonna want to use a couple pins or a small pair of tweezers to pull it out.

be careful when you do it that you don't knock the little internal switch that tells it when headphones are plugged in out of place.
