So I recently got a Ti-84+SE. I have an old cord that happens to fit the USB port. Only problem, Ti-connect doesn't recognize the calculator when I use that cord. Do I need the CD stuff to connect it to the computer?

Make sure the cord is in there pretty snug. If not your comp not might recognize that a device is connected. Otherwise you could try re-installing ti-connect maybe it is an issue with that.

I feel sorry for you, I have the same issue. If you had your calculator plugged in while you installed TI-Connect, you're screwed. That means the driver didn't install correctly, and you have to re-install it. Plug in your calculator and go to device manager (if you don't know how to get there, post your OS and we can tell you how), and manually un-install every driver related to your calculator. Then, unplug your calculator, and uninstall TI-Connect. Re-install TI-Connect, which will correctly install the drivers, and then it should work fine. This is a pain in the butt to fix, so good luck.
