I figure it is the time to make a topic about my entry.

My plan is to make Pokemon TCG

It will feature
*The original 151 Pokemon.
*Poorly done AI.
*Multi-player.
*Deck construction.
*A shop.
*And probably sound.

Unfortunately because of the huge size of data from the sprites, The Game could be as large as 25k bytes.

Progress:

Data:
Pokemon sprites: 92/151
Pokemon names: 153/151
Energy sprites: 0/?
Attack names: 0/?
Attack damage: 0/?
Max Hp: 0/?

Things progress, but slowly.

Yeah I can't view it either. I thought it was a post count limitation but I got like 1000 posts. I think an UTI staff might have messed up permission settings. :/

Huh, that is weird. Um, what happens if you try to add it to the post instead of including it as an attachment? Can you see this?

Ya I can see that. How would I post it as an image instead of an attachment?

Edit: how many people have confirmed that they will enter in this comp?

You go to "Edit" and then next to where it says save changes, select "Use Full Editor" and then look for your attachment. On the right side of the screen you should see "Add to post"

I would do it myself, but I don't like the idea of editing posts made by others :/

That should do it. We made it so users could attach files but only judges could see/download them.

Those are some pretty wicked sprites you've got there. I had contemplated making a BASIC version of this game quite a while back, if I ever get around to finishing Pokemon Purple. Razz Can't wait to see how far this progresses.

thanks, I am now 55% done with the PKMN sprites. It is allot more work than I had thought.

i use Gimp 2.6 to scale pictures down, then turn them into 4 level gray. I then manually copy the result into sprite editor (takes over 5 min). Then I use a small program I made to extract the hex into a string inside a program named OPIC. After that I copy the data, after numbering the sprites, into my main data program.
All in all, it takes around 8 min per sprite :P

As this game will be open source, will it be breaking any rules to post the sprites on Omnimaga.org for anyone to use/download?

If not, may I use the screenies in this topic, and use the link to display them as a picture? Such as for my avatar over there.

I just want to say, if you make a Pokémon TCG, there will be a bunch of people in real life on my end that would be pretty interested!

Small progress update. I have 32 more sprites done than before.
I got the names done. It was the only portable work that could be done :/

I have the reading from archive portion finished and cleaned up. So the amount of Ram used so far is low again Razz.

Unfortunately, the way I have the data structured, I can't work on the game engine without the data completed first.

Just a note:
I am adding some special Pokemon. One of which is a powerful legendary Pokemon by the name of Natham.

another note: the last 50 Pokemon generally have the smallest sprites, so making them will be about 20% faster Very Happy
