Bumping this topic here.

I got a hard drive, turns out it was covered by manufacturer warranty, they sent it to me for free with directions for installing. Everything went smoothly, I got the hard drive installed without any problems. Now, a few days after using the laptop, the same problem is arising, it crashes upon login.

I haven't been doing anything wrong to it software wise, and I've been taking extreme care of it physically, so I believe it's a problem with the casing, or another hardware error somewhere.

Now, what do you guys think I should do? Call Sony and get another laptop?
