There's also the TI-95, a more advanced version of the TI-74. Find the best price of the the, and go with the one that meets your needs for the best price.
Does the TI-95 run BASIC like the TI-74 does?
Yes, I think so. From the datamath page, the TI-95 is a more advanced version of the 74, so they should function about the same.
I don't understand why you don't want to just program on a TI-84+SE. I'd say the BASIC is comparable if not better, and you have BBC BASIC there too.
