Anyone know the pattern?

I found this sequence of numbers and couldn't figure out the pattern despite about half an hour of staring at the thing. What's the next number?

9, 0, 2, 6, 94, 10, 42, ?

The man crashed to the dirt. Gasping heavily, he staggered to his feet and wildly thrashed in pain.
An unseen force smashed into his back, sending him flying into the dirt again. Crying out and sobbing, he managed to flip over and peer at the stars.
A shadowy blot hurtled into the man's view. Terror seized his heart.
The man gasped, “Who are you?” An edge of hysteria crept into him.
A flash of steel, a metallic grind, a tearing pain in his chest.
Softly hissed words penetrated the man’s pain. “A true ninja… must be dark as a shadow, silent as a whisper…”
This is the function that fits the data:

f(x) = 1869-(53077 x)/12+(234517 x^2)/60-(80717 x^3)/48+(6017 x^4)/16-(669 x^5)/16+(437 x^6)/240



f(8) = 3215, so the answer is 3215
But the answer could be anything for example I can say that the rule is the following: the first 7 numbers are 9, 0, 2, 6, 94, 10 and 42 and all the other elements are 5436
