I havent been able to download any WINE binaries or source... it just gives me a 404 on the apt repository...

can anyone here help with this?

Are you downloading from the site? Or (if you have ubuntu or something similar) using a package manager to download it for you?
Any fool can use a computer. Many do.





APT, the package manager... there are no amd64 binaries, so it says to download the source... neither repository works properly though...

I had no problems with apt-get install wine, although I was using a 32-bit x86 cpu.
Try updating your repositories (apt-get update i think), something has probably changed (also do a system update - apt-get dist-upgrade or something like that)

Try adding these sources to your list:

deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main
deb-src http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main
those are the ones i used... got them from wineHQ...

Well, it looks like all the files are there and working: http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/pool/main/w/wine/
Maybe you could try direct-downloading the latest one and install it locally?
